How many times do we let the charge on phone get low or die?
For me not very often, every night I plug my phone in and it recharges.
It’s honestly a routine that I don’t even think about.
Can you imagine if you phone only has 20% power left and there was no charger insight for months, maybe years?
I know for myself this would not work. I would be such a basket case trying to conserve power.
If we are intentional about recharging our phones, why not be so intentional with our mind and bodies?
We can lose focus and drive if we keep going day after day, workout after workout, without any rest.
I had a client once workout everyday till she finally just crashed after some 11-12 days straight. Her body said no more. It put her at high risk for injury and mentally/physically she needed a break.
This is why rest days are just as important as workout days.
We have to be intentional about rest and recharging. Most of us walk around with about 20% of power left, but we keep going.
These past couple days, we have had some much-needed family time away and at the beach.
It has been a while since we have gotten away and recharged the batteries. We decided to take Leo and Lyv to the ocean and boy do they love it!
Each of us needed to get away, out of the routine and drive.
I encourage you to take time this weekend to map out your week. Put in your obligations. Then put dedicated time for you. Plan your workouts, plan your down and plan when you will go to bed.
Most of us do not even come close to getting enough sleep to recharge our bodies for the next day.
Be intentional about your recharge.
In the US we drive the grind like no other, but this is your life and you get to design it.
I felt very guilty about taking this time away – then I reminded myself you need this too. In order for me to perform at my best I need a break, we all do.
Take time for you, be intentional daily, then make plans to unplug.
Go have a relaxing weekend,
