Michelle had had reservations about having a baby because she didn’t want that to define her body image. Many of her friends didn’t make fitness a priority and during and immediately after being pregnant and they blamed pregnancy for their body issues. She learned from their examples that the best thing she could do is to keep up her workouts as best as she could and in doing so Michelle is happy with the way she looks and how she has recovered from her pregnancy. We at TFW are also extremely proud of the efforts Michelle has put forth towards her recovery.
It is important for her to be healthy and feel at her best to be a better mom. Michelle also believes being physically active is very important to everyone’s overall health and well-being.
Michelle’s advice of a fit mother is:
“No matter how tired I am or how much I don’t want to exercise, I always feel better after I do it. I remind myself of that when I’m exhausted and it is the best motivation! Schedule time into your day for the workouts so you can’t make excuses about not having the time to do it.”
Nicole is a mother of two beautiful girls. Her oldest was born with a rare congenital heart defect leaving her with only half of a heart. She is 7 years old now and after 3 open-heart surgeries and a feeding tube for 3.5 years with no food orally has had to learn how to challenge her daughter to eat healthy. In the beginning that was NOT an easy task. She preferred sweets, juices loaded with sugar, and anything with ketchup and ranch dressing! Over the years, she has altered the family’s way of living. Nicole’s oldest daughter has proven that even though things may be ‘different’ she can still conquer the world! Nicole’s now youngest daughter has someone to look up to and her oldest is a peer role model for her classmates! She is an inspiration! Nicole has been consistently showing her daughters how to incorporate exercise and healthy choices into their daily lives! “TFW has shown me (in the very short time I have been attending) how to build that foundation and much more!”
As a mother it is important to be healthy and to show your children that a healthy life style can help them accomplish amazing things. By staying active and eating healthy, Nicole has been able to teach her children structure, discipline and strength! Now the entire family has become self-motivators and self-starters!
Nicole would like to share her advice with you:
“Just to remember that everyone has their own story. Everyone has had to overcome struggles and speed bumps. I always try to remember that no matter how hard our road has been, someone else has traveled an even more difficult road. Keep your head up and keep positivity in your life! It makes a world of difference! We start every day with a positive attitude! Incorporate that and you will see life in a different light! OH…and ALWAYS choose happy music! It makes a world of difference!” 😉
