I ask the question are you busy? HA!
Who isn’t?
Seriously we are all busy, right?!
We all have commitments pulling us this direction and the other and this is the number one thing we find that prevents people from reaching their health goals.
BUT, we are in control of our schedule, right?
I mean we are the ones that schedule all this stuff…
So how come one person has time to work out or meal prep when the other person doesn’t?
I know I am not going to be everyone’s favorite person right now, but what it boils down to is priorities.
It is ok, no judgement here, seriously.
We all go through different phases in our life.
I recently had a huge shift in everything I was doing.
I was serving on a board, in a networking group, chaired a committee, had a baby, running our business, etc. I was giving, giving and giving and guess what was happening to me? I was dying.
I could hardly keep up with these commitments let alone, my family, my business and myself.
No one’s fault but my own.
I loved what I was doing serving in each capacity, but what kept bringing me to my knees was I could not do them all well.
Everything was getting about half of my ability, if that. So, guess what, I kept coming up short and genuinely feeling like a failure. Fun way to live each day, right?
I know I have shared this a few times, but I can now step back and see others doing the same thing. No doubt it is tough to say no. I had never quit anything before in my life.
When I stepped back and removed a few things I realized everything I was gaining back.
The clarity in my head was amazing.
I have consistently worked out at 5:45am M/W/F for over a year now. It feels amazing. Every Sunday we meal prep for the week, even for our son Leo. Makes the week less stressful when you already have your food ready to go.
I had to step back and ask myself who is Arin. I am a wife, mom and entrepreneur…that’s it.
Have you done this for you?
I encourage you to take a moment and evaluate your schedule and what you are doing on a daily basis. Is it helping you reach your goals or pushing you further away?
Time spent on you is time you will never regret. When we take care of us, we can serve others much more effectively. They get you, the real you.
I was that person running around trying to serve everyone else and always coming up short. It was not fun. It was sending me down a slipper slope. (It also took others, who loved me a lot, telling me I needed to change, too.)
It was not easy to receive this kind of feedback.
So, I’ll ask the question again: Are you busy?
If so, Busy doing what?
Is what you are doing helping you towards your goals or pushing you further away?
Its not easy to see this when you are in the storm. Raise your hand and ask for help, it is one of the hardest, yet most rewarding things you can do.
We are here to help, just shoot me a message.
Arin
