I have had several conversations around this topic and I have even recognized this with myself.
Ever avoid starting a new diet or workout program because you have “failed” so many times in the past.
–> Or it was so hard and you just can’t wrap your head around doing “that” again?
–> Or do you see success and then all the sudden your results stop and you go right back?
–> Or do you feel like I just can’t do this, I’m just going to be this way forever.
Self-Sabotage is a real thing, even I have struggled with this in different areas of my life.
First I think it is important to acknowledge the behavior, then what do you need to do to make a change.
Do you want to make a change?
We have so many hard wirings or stories we have told ourselves over the years it can be hard to rewrite the messaging.
I always thought you had to work “hard” to get what you want in life.
If something came easy, I would somehow try to mess it up or make it harder.
I see this happen with weight loss journeys.
At first, we get excited, we start making changes, we see some results, then something happens and we go right back.
Or I see people avoid doing the necessary steps or changes altogether.
They reasonably know what to do but don’t do it.
This is going to sound a little woo woo, but we need to get our head right.
We need to find the good things happening around us.
Gratitude statements can be super helpful. Puts your mind in the positive.
-Then remember it doesn’t have to be hard.
-We don’t need to worry if you are going to fail.
-We can’t avoid focusing on our health, life is too short.
If you find yourself on this journey, take every morning and write 3-5 statements of gratitude.
Then take all the stories, emotion, ego out – don’t think…just do.
What if you ate well, consistently, reduced alcohol, exercised, or moved most days – you will feel good.
String enough days together and you start to see results.
I am embarrassed to say this but I put 12 pounds on in this pandemic and I was already up 8 pounds from having our daughter.
Not cool.
But I have been doing these exact steps and I am super proud to be 10 pounds down, but you know what else feels lighter?
My mind.
I stopped listening to myself, throwing pity parties for myself, and said hey, I can do this.
I had to stop eating the crap out of carbs. Stop drinking every night and focus on what was good.
It is an amazing feeling when you feel at peace, and at peace with yourself.
When you can step back and take the emotion out, realize all the good things happening and do the steps results will happen.
Now, this is all easier said than done and I recommend having a coach.

You got this,
