TFW is excited to have such a passionate Fitness Professional on the team. Justin graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology, emphasis in Exercise Science. Justin is also an ACE Personal Trainer.
What makes you the perfect person for your job? “My passion in fitness began in high school. It started as an outlet and led me to who I am today. My education and experience has allowed me to be a very well rounded trainer and diverse in different forms of training; including weight loss, speed and agility, strength, muscle gain, injury prevention, injury rehab, and nutrition. I believe that educating, learning and teaching is the most important role for being a trainer. You need to be able to impact the mind and body.”
How do you help people meet their fitness goals? “I help others meet their fitness goals by educating on food as well as on fitness. I also understand what it is like to be hurt. Life can change in an instant. You have to make the best of any situation, because you only have one body. Understanding body mechanics and knowing how to adjust your body into proper alignment is key to recovery and prevention of potential injuries allowing you keep doing what you love for longer. I also help by keeping a upbeat attitude and pushing you to be your very best!”
What are your three most valuable skills? “Truth, drive, and determination.”
What is your favorite thing about your job? “What I love about my job is being able to impact so many people’s lives. My passion is helping others and seeing how someone can change.”
What sports have you competed in? “Rugby, Track and field”
How do you like to get your sweat on? “Weight lifting, sports (golf, basketball, rugby, snowboarding, tennis)”
What’s your favorite jam to work out to? “Most the time I do not have music playing. I enjoy working out with a partner and talking – as long as we can get a good lift.”
What would you say is the best way someone can take their first step toward becoming a better version of themselves? “I would say the first step in becoming a better version would be willing to make the change as well as understanding and not just talking about it.”
Do you have a transformation story? What is it? “My transformation with myself has had many different faces. I have been hurt and have come back stronger than I was before. I have gained weight and lost weight but the biggest transformation I have made was being confident in what I was doing. When I say confident I mean I understand what I need to do to be better and having the confidence to take that step. I will always be transforming and becoming the best person that I can be.”
