I ran into a former client in the grocery store and it was so great to catch up.
He talked about how busy he was, his business, his kid, life, etc.
It was good to see him and hear how he was doing, but I could see and hear the guilt.
He felt bad for stopping his workouts, he admitted to gaining his weight back and then some.
It is so hard to watch this but we see this happen to so many people.
Life is tough.
Point blank.
We are all walking a journey and we all struggle.
No one is immune.
Some seem to get hit harder than others and others seem to have it all together.
I have come to realize it is all a balance.
At some points yes, you are going to have to focus more on work/business; you have deadlines or projects. But if we are always super stressed and only focused on work, I guarantee you are not focusing on your health.
Let alone family, etc.
There really is a balance. We call it the four pillars of health:
- Exercise
- Food
- Sleep/stress
- Quality Supplementation
We can’t expect our work to be amazing when we are not sleeping. We can’t expect workouts to be awesome if we are not eating well. You cannot just eat protein shakes and protein bars!
We must build our foundation by working on each pillar and creating a balance that will in turn create our life.
When you are fueling your body well with good food and supplementing with high quality supplements to fill the gaps in your nutrition, you create a wonderful environment for quality sleep, recovery from workouts, and sustained energy. You also keep your immune system working well.
Then when your workouts are balanced and appropriate, meaning you are not just going all out killing yourself seven days per week, but doing enough movement for good health benefits, you find yourself sleeping better and, even with stress, you find yourself balancing it better.
This is the foundation for total health.
Take one of the pillars out and you can see your life not going well. I know I have seen it for myself. Just have a newborn and not get enough sleep. That sleep deprivation was real. I was so exhausted when we first came home with Leo that I was nauseous, dizzy and could not think.
Now I know having a newborn is an extreme case for not getting quality sleep and thankfully short lived until the teething monster showed up. 😊
There have also been times in my life when stress was at an all time high and I could not turn it off at night.
You better believe I was not getting good workouts in and honestly the food you eat is whatever you can find and that will keep you awake, insert sugar!
Finding a balance is not always easy and there is no shame asking for help.
In our program we will sit down, talk about your goals, what’s been holding you back, and set a plan.
Sounds simple, right?
Its not, life will happen and that’s why having a coach holding you accountable helps you stay on track.
It is a check point weekly to make sure you are on track or to help you get back on track.
We are all busy, but you can’t afford to be too busy to take care of your health.
Even if you have done our program before and decide it’s time to get back engaged we are here to help.
The hardest part is reaching out, but I want you to know we are here for you.
We have been doing this for almost 10 years and people always tell me we are their last stop. They have tried everything else and wish they found us first.
Also, if you want to come and see first hand what our community is like, stop by Friday Nov. 3rd 6-9pm for our 10 Year Anniversary! We will host 3 local artists, have a push-up for charity event at 7pm raising money for Riley and we will be raffling off a YEAR of training!
Let me know if we can help!
