When I talk to people about their health and wellness goals I often here, “Arin I know what I need to do.”
But why don’t we do it?
Reasonably speaking I do feel we all know what we need to do.
The big question is why don’t we do it?
Some thoughts I have around why we don’t do what we know we need to do is:
We have created some tough habits to break.
Lack clarity around what we want in life.
We settle and get complacent.
How do you overcome these obstacles?
The most important part is deciding.
When you say enough is enough and I am willing to make change.
It’s not about will power, I don’t even like that phrase.
It’s about getting clarity on what you want in life.
When you can stop and gain clarity, you can move into action.
For a lot of our clients they have an incident with clothes.
Nothing fits, they had buying a new size or they hate who they see in the mirror.
It is so tough to get to this point, but I find it takes that moment in time where you have had it.
The process is hard, you will feel frustrated, you will do drastic things hoping to see results (hello juice cleanses).
I want to encourage you to stop and write what you want out of life.
Who do you want to be in this world?
What has been holding you back?
What needs to die in order for you to achieve this?
You can do anything you want in this life and I know everything gets better when you take care of you.
Ask yourself the three questions above if you have been wanting to lose weight, but can’t seem to make it happen.
Then start making small changes daily.
Here are some examples:
Drink your body weight in ounces of water, do this for a month.
Start walking 20-30min, 3-5 days per week.
Reduce how many sweets you eat in a week.
Reduce how much alcohol you drink in a week.
The main thing I want you to notice is you make small changes.
Then do this action consistently.
It is going to feel insignificant at the time but it will add up.
You know what you need to do and I want to encourage you to do it.
You will never regret taking care of your health.
